You all made me proud ( I was proud of myself too) braving the elements yesterday. The wind was fierce! It took me an hour to thaw out. I just kept thinking how nice it will be running in March and April and how fit I will be. Despite the cold I felt great last night! I've decided to buy some Aquaphor for my skin (especially my face) to combat dryness and chafing from the wind and cold. It's great stuff... not as thick as vaseline and nonirritating... it provides a great protective barrier. You can but it at any drug store. (It's also great for preventing diaper rash, mommies).
I hope the snow holds off so we can get our long run in Sunday (6 miles for me) down on Kelly Drive. I plan on showing even with an inch on the ground. Any more than that, it's another treadmill day. Let's keep our fingers crossed!

Depending on the weather, I too plan on being there on Sunday. I doubt I will be able to do 6 miles, but if anyone is looking to do slightly shorter 4-ish or so (and is a group "B"), let me know.
ReplyDeleteI am certain that the city will not be clearing the path around Kelly/West River Drive (and while the drive itself will likely be clearer, it is not the safest place to run!). So please exercise caution if you go ahead with it. I believe they are calling for 2-4 inches, but who knows what it will end up turning into...rain maybe??
I agree that Aquaphor is a great product and is well worth the $.
I hope to see you there Karin... let's save the snow for a school day : )
