What a great morning it was for a run along "the drive". It was 34 degrees and slick in a handful of spots, but otherwise, no issues. We started out at 9:15 went down Kelly Drive and around past the Art Museum. We got a little bit further before we found that it was just too icy, so made that our turn around point. We accomplished the distance in about an hour.
When I got home, I used the US Track & Field site that Mike had posted (using the very cool aerial view) and found that our run came to 5.9 miles. I have to say that I am more than pleased with that, as I have only be averaging a 2-3 mile run twice a week. Certainly the company and the downtown atmosphere helped me along! My only hope is that I can make it up the steps at school tomorrow!
Great job Ladies and thanks for a fun morning. Next time, let's grab coffee and a bagel afterward! Here's a shot of us post-run...still smiling!

Great Job Ladies!!! It is huge advantage to have a group to run with on these longer runs. Our goal for next week is to at least double the attendance!!!

I still can't believe I did that run yesterday....I have already laughed several times when I think about us coming up to the ice and holding each others' hands as we ran across. I guess if we all go down, we're all going down together! Great job, girls!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed. When I saw the ice on my street there was no way I was running that early! You all Rock!
ReplyDeleteWe are running goddesses (albeit slightly frozen and crazy)... Kudos Ladies : )
ReplyDeleteWe should all be proud, it was an icy morning!!! Kelly Drive is a great place to run!!!
