Snowy Sunday Along The River
How gorgeous and peaceful everything was this morning when I woke up to find a little more than a dusting of snow. Somehow I managed to get myself together and drove over the Washington Crossing Bridge. I was laughing while driving along River Road, as all of a sudden, I go around a bend and right in front of me were endless amounts of glacier-hopeful chunks of ice floating along the river. It was a nice distraction from the mammoth estates that I was driving by!
It ended up being Joe and I...we did about 6.5 along the Towpath. No ice on the trail to worry about this time and on some parts the snow felt like we were running on the beach (wishful thinking??). It was a great way to spend an hour. Thanks, Joe, for running probably what you considered to be a snail's pace! Pictures are included...I almost always have my camera. No people this week...sorry Tom!
Well done Karin and Joe. My friend Fiona and I did wind up doing 7 on the same towpath just north from Lambertville to Stockton crossing the bridge there and back the PA side (which is really beautiful. Did slightly sub 9 minute miles on a surprisingly easy to run on inch of powder.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely start to the day. Went somewhat downhill from there watching the Eagles etc. Whatever, first and foremost I'm a Phillies fan anyway.
Taking today off from running but will take a walk w/ M and Sally etc. Back at it tomorrow.
Ron
We were looking for you, Ron...we thought maybe our paths would cross. Glad you got out to enjoy it all!
ReplyDeleteGo Phillies! Less than a month until pitchers and catchers report (2/14)!
Great job Ron. Karin and I had a nice run. The footing was great on the toe path with the cover of snow. I always feel that if it is going to be cold, it might as well be snowing. I got out today on the toe path 2 miles from my house in Yardley and it started to snow steadily a mile into my run. It was a good time! I also had a nice hour + to think about why I continue to be a hardcore eagles fan...
