That seems to be the question! Here are directions for the distance recording tool posted by Joe:
Go to gmap-pedometer.com
Type in your zip code (top right) where it says "jump to" and hit enter
Then click "hybrid" also top right to show an accurate aerial view of your area
Zoom in using the "+" sign on the left of the picture to find the streets you want (you can click and drag to move the picture around)
Once you locate your starting point, click the "start recording" button on the left and then double-click on the map... a red balloon will appear... continue to double click along your route... mile markers will appear along the route and the distance is also calculated along the left...
You'll be able to map routes any where you want and know exactly how far you're going. I hope these directions were helpful.
Remember... you can always use the blog to find exercise partners for days, times, and ability levels that meet your needs. It was great seeing everyone out there yesterday. Stay warm the next few days. We are planning to run in Tyler Park after school tomorrow @ 3:00 with the hope the trees will block the frigid wind. Bruce, are we committed (or crazy) or what???

You are all braver than I am - I think I'll be sticking to my climate controlled house and treadmill for the next two days - something about running in 18 degree weather just doesn't do it for me!!!!
ReplyDeleteIs it really going to be 18 degrees? I may have to rethink this one... Coach Joe wants everyone inside too...
ReplyDeleteSo I JUST realized you can post comments here! I am a beginning blogger, I was wondering why noone responded to my question about running partners! I would love to run with you all but I guess with the weather we will have to wait till next week? Where in Tyler do you meet for your runs?
ReplyDeleteNo way... we're not running today! It's just way too cold.
ReplyDeleteElizabeth... we meet in the parking lot across the street from the old playhouse... We will probably set something up there next week (weather permitting).
And like you, this blogging thing is new to me too... although I'm starting to get the hang of it (I think...) Hopefully we will meet up soon for a run! Take care and stay warm : )
