So, last night was cold and rainy. By time I got home and we made the kids diner I just didn't want to do the walk/cross-training. I start to think maybe I'm not so crazy after all.
Tonight I stopped at South's gym on the way home (about 5:45) for my speed workout on the indoor track (again not crazy). This is the first I've really been on that track and found it's 1/8 mile long and a comfortable surface to run on. I get half a mile into the speed part of the work out when I'm asked to leave the track. This is when found out they don't let people on the track while there are games in the main gym. Fine, I put on my sweatshirt, pack my bags, and leave without a problem. Great now I have two workouts to make up for..... Surprisingly, when you run a few miles it's not that cold outside and there was plenty of light from the moon and the lights in the parking lot: I did my workout on the outside track! Normally running outside I would have long Under Armor pants on, but I didn't plan on running outside, so I just had Under Armor shorts with mesh shorts over that. Yep, I'm convinced I really am crazy!
On another note, my family and I go to church on Sunday mornings at 9:00, so I won't be joining you on Kelly Drive this Sunday. I'll probably go out early Saturday morning instead. I live about a mile from South and will stay local (no route planned yet). If anybody needs a running partner and would like to join me you are more than welcome. Any route suggestions?

Way to go Mike! You are very motivated and this is clear with getting kicked off the indoor track and braving the elements to finish the workout on the outdoor track. Great work! If you need any ideas for loops in the area, let me know. www.gmap-pedometer.com is a good source to map runs.

Thanks for the info, Mike, about the track at South. I won't count on covering any distance there... Looking forward to meeting you soon : )
ReplyDeleteHey,
ReplyDeleteIf you were to start at south and run to holland middle and back it is 4 miles. I guess then you could extend to be 6 by running up east holland road and back.
