I woke up this morning, the sun was rising and the temperatures haven't made it up to the freezing point yet. Obviously it was the perfect time to start running again!
I used a tool on the USA Track and Field website to map out my route (http://www.usatf.org/routes/map/) and went out for a three mile run. I was a little stiff when I got back, but recovered quickly. Sadly, this sums up how I run; on a whim, for a random distance, at whatever pace I feel like. It's worked so far to get me down 10 miles of Broad Street amoung thousands of people, but this year I think I'll do it the right way. It will be a new experience for me to follow an actual training regimen and I'm looking forward to improving. Who knows, maybe doing some real training will put me in a position to try the PDR (Philadelphia Distance Run) again.

Mike,
ReplyDeleteThis is a great tool to find out the distance of our favorite loops we all run/walk in our neighborhoods. I am glad you posted the link for everyone. I will try and add this as a link on the side of our blog for future reference
