Did I ever mention...

Have I ever mentioned that I hate running? With a little over 5 weeks to go I've finally decided to post something on the blog. A few weeks ago when I was separated from my teammates on Kelley Drive, soaked, in pain and my foot drenched in blood; I never thought I'd be running over 7 miles before break. That's peer pressure for you! Two big thumbs up for TEAM STANS!

  1. Betsy, your story is one of my favorite parts of Team Stans. I've read posts of seasoned runners, but you seem new to the game and making wonderful progress, presumabley because of Bruce. I just love to see his influence in our lives.
As to your hatered of running....
I can't tell you how many times I'm in the middle of a run asking myself why I do this. I can't count the number of times I wake up and just don't want to run that path again, and for a hour! Ugh! Sometimes I give in to it and I won't go, or I'll bargain with myself to follow a shorter/ easier path. I think its important that I don't push too hard at these times because as soon as I have to run won't enjoy the run and I'll stop all together. Then there are the good days when I get up, fully rested and excited to get out there. It's those days when I can enjoy the fresh morning air and the quite surroundings, when it's just me and path infront of me, when the challenge energizes me that I remember. It's those days that keep me coming back. So, forget the bad days, look to the good days, and keep up the great work!

  2. YEAH! Betsy! Two THUMBS right back at you! Not only will those thumbs keep the side stitches away (as you've learned), they're also a symbol for what we represent ... complete awesomeness in all we do (as you know). Yeah, two thumbs WAY UP! I love the pic of both you and the Drives, and I love what you've brought to the team (in the office and in the park...) I'm looking forward to crossing the finish line with you : )

  5. Two things Betsy. First, it's looks as if you're actually reenacting a run. Secondly, it looks as if you're standing in front of a little German village.
